Keep on Casting On
Things have been rough here at casa de Stitching Geek. Along with everything else crappy going on in the world, there has also been some personal stuff going on which has been making it hard to do much of anything. Usually, in stressful situations, I try to match my knitting to the level of stress. If things are really tough, I do something hard. I think I stole it from the Yarn Harlot but right now, I can’t even focus on a TV show, let alone a complex knitting project.
I have a couple of projects on the needles right now (I mean, who doesn’t, right?) but I have the urge to cast on something new. So that’s what I’m doing.
My husband mentioned needing a new scarf, so I jumped on that. I very nearly cast on another V Scarf because no matter how many times I make it, I’m still obsessed. I also considered doing the Irish Hiking Scarf again but that was the first scarf I made him. Also in gray. So. I resisted those urges. Like a hero.
I’ve grabbed a few skeins of Berroco Vintage I have laying around. (Every once and a while I decide I’m going to knit myself a sweater and get a bajillion skeins of something and then I don’t knit myself a sweater. Fat girl knitter problems, am I right?).
According to Ravelry, I bought this yarn back in 2015. That really is vintage.
Ahem. Anyway.
I did a search and found the ‘Dudester Scarf’ by Jana Pihota and got approval for it so that’s what I’m casting on today. Let me know what’s on your needles!
